Vision

I’ll relink this file as soon as I find a place for files which aren’t music, books, or videos.

This radio story, which never made it to the ReInvention playlist, opens with a fictional narrative, driven by voiceover and sound design, imagining the moment when a person realizes that it is no longer safe to drive due to eyesight deterioration. Next, we meet Dee who has been losing her eyesight for thirty years due to a genetic mutation called “retinitis pigmentosa.” Despite her blindness, Dee, with the help of a local artist who acted as her eyes, painted one of the massive art murals on The 3rd Avenue Art Project in downtown Dayton, Ohio. Dee reflects on how the creative process helped her to redefine how she sees her visual challenge.
